In the violin finals of the ARD Music competition 2021 on September 12, Japanese violinist Seiji Okamoto was awarded a first prize. Dmitry Smirnov from Russia got a second prize. A third prize and the audience prize was given to Alexandra Tirsu (Moldova/Rumania).
