Beyond this he won prizes at the “Jugend musiziert” Competition. There followed engagements as soloist, while at the same time Thomas Kiechle took part in the founding of the internationally renowned brass ensemble “Bavarian Chamber Brass”.

After studies in Munich and Karlsruhe with Reinhold Friedrich, he received his first engagement in 1996 as second trumpeter at the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin under Daniel Barenboim. Since September 2001, Thomas Kiechle has been a member of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and also serves at the trumpet faculty of the Munich Music Academy.
