Thomas Kiechle
Thomas Kiechle, born in 1976 in Munich, took his first trumpet lessons at the age of ten from Ulrich Breddermann. Later he was a junior student of Paul Lachenmeir at the Munich Music Academy and was a member of the Bavarian State and German Federal Youth Orchestras.
Beyond this he won prizes at the “Jugend musiziert” Competition. There followed engagements as soloist, while at the same time Thomas Kiechle took part in the founding of the internationally renowned brass ensemble “Bavarian Chamber Brass”.
After studies in Munich and Karlsruhe with Reinhold Friedrich, he received his first engagement in 1996 as second trumpeter at the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin under Daniel Barenboim. Since September 2001, Thomas Kiechle has been a member of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and also serves at the trumpet faculty of the Munich Music Academy.
