Since september 1995 she has been a member of Symphonieorchesters des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Besides her orchestral activities, Valérie Gillard is a member of the Grieg Quartet in Munich and appears regularly as soloist and chamber musician.

Violinist Valérie Gillard was born in Belgium and received her musical training in the violin class taught byMarcel Debot in Brussels, where she completed her concert examination at the conservatory cum laude in 1990. She finished her studies with Victor Liberman at the Music Academy in Utrecht. In 1992 she won first prize at the international competitions in Houston and Aberdeen.

Her orchestral career began in 1986 with the Belgian Chamber Orchestra and continued with the European Community Youth Orchestra and the Karajan Foundation of the Berlin Philharmonic to the Orhcestre de Paris in France, of which she was a member from 1994 to 1996. Directly thereafter she moved on to the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, in which she still plays.

Valérie Gillard was a member of the Grieg Quartet and, in addition to the classical repertoire, also devotes her attentions to the baroque literature on period instruments. Valérie Gillard is also a member of the newly founded Munich Ensemble Academia Giocosa.
