Information about the programme
Swedish composer and Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation prize winner Lisa Streich loves exploring the nuances hidden behind the notes. After all, according to her, every score contains countless shades of colour. This concert, conducted by Matthias Pintscher, begins with the European premiere of her new Piano Concerto, featuring pianist Tamara Stefanovich. It is followed by the premiere of Das Lied von den zwei Erden (The Song of the Two Earths) by Jüri Reinvere, whose works, alongside a decidedly Modernist approach in terms of their rigorous soundworld, also display an unwavering embrace of Romanticism. The second half of the concert is devoted to Hans Werner Henze’s Heliogabalus Imperator, a shrill and bombastic piece with lyrical moments of repose as well as bizarre twists.
musica viva
This concert is part of the Bavarian Radios' musica viva series. Musica viva is one of the world’s most famous forums for future-oriented and contemporary music, where many experimental works and performances for orchestra and chamber music receive their premiere.
