Information about the programme
It has become a wonderful and meaningful tradition for the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks to perform for the Süddeutsche Zeitung’s charitable organization “SZ Gute Werke.” Since 1948, when the organization began its work as “Adventskalender für gute Werke,” it has been helping people in Munich and the surrounding areas. In 2023, for example, more than 7.4 million euro was raised and distributed without deductions to those in need. The BRSO Benefit Concert, which has been held for 16 years, is a cornerstone of this fundraising effort. Sir Simon Rattle will be on the podium once again and will be conducting Schumann’s life-affirming Second Symphony and Bruckner’s monumental Seventh Symphony.
The proceeds from the concert will go to SZ Gute Werke e.V.
