Ernst von Siemens Music Prize for Simon Rattle

Lifetime achievement award
Simon Rattle has been awarded the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize 2025, the “Nobel Prize of Music”. The award “for a life in the service of music” is endowed with 250,000 euros, which Sir Simon intends to use to open up new dimensions for historical performance practice in the BRSO under the label BRSO hip (“historically informed performance”).
