What is behind “BRSO hip”? Not only the abbreviation for “historically informed performance”, but above all the initiative of chief conductor Sir Simon Rattle, to expand the BRSO programme to include baroque music. He himself starts with three of most beautiful cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach.
