Lorenz Chen
Lorenz Chen, born in 1994 in Freiburg im Breisgau, received his first violin lessons at the age of six. He first studied with Julia Fischer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich and later became a student of the renowned professor Ana Chumachenco.
His accomplishments at international competitions include winning the first prize at the International Violin Competition Henri Marteau and the Schoenfeld International String Competition as well as the second prize at the Premio Rodolfo Lipizer International Violin Competition and Alberto Lysy Violin Competition. During the ARD Music Competition 2017, Lorenz Chen was awarded the U21 Special Prize for an outstanding performance of a young participant. As a soloist, Lorenz Chen has been performing in both Germany and Taiwan with orchestras such as the Hofer Symphoniker, the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and the Academy of Taiwan Strings.
In 2023 Lorenz Chen became a member of the Second Violins in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
