Wolfgang Läubin

Trumpet

Born in Müllheim/Baden in 1965.

First trumpet lessons with his father, then studies at the Musikhochschule Freiburg with Prof. Robert Bodenröder.

Member of the Landesjugendorchester Baden-Württemberg, the Bundesjugendorchester and the European Community Youth Orchestra (under conductors such as Abbado, Barenboim, von Karajan, Solti).

Member of the Bach Collegium Stuttgart under Helmuth Rilling.

Trumpeter in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Solo concerts with New York Virtuosi, Chamber Orchestra Tibor Varga, …

Participation in the chamber music festival in St. Moritz initiated by Claudio Abbado; there, among other things, production of Igor Stravinsky’s “Histoire du Soldat” with Ruth Berghaus.

Solo concerts with the brothers Hannes and Bernhard Läubin, including the premiere of the Concerto for Three Trumpets and Orchestra composed by Siegfried Matthus for the Läubin Trumpet Ensemble.

Concerts, record and television productions with the Windsbacher Knabenchor.

Production of two CDs for the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft: Music for Three Trumpets and Organ (with Simon Preston) and Concertos for Trumpets and Orchestra (with the English Chamber Orchestra).

Wolfgang Läubin has been a member of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks since 1985.
